The Imagery of M. A. Fitch
Michael A. Fitch is a photographer, filmmaker and audio/visual artist with more than 35 years experience in the artistic communications field. His diverse work has been exhibited both nationally and internationally and taken him from Eilat, Israel to The British Museum of Natural History in London for the National Audubon Society Award winning film "Return From Forever - The Pennsylvania Osprey Reintroduction Project", to "inside the ropes" at "The Open Golf Championship" (still photography) to the Tramway Theatre in Glasgow as Executive Director of Infinity Dance Theatre's presentation of "Scotland's Heroes".
He has had the opportunity to work with a myriad of iconic personas such as the sports legend Curt Gowdy to producing DVD's for Rock and Roll classic bands such as Commander Cody and the Commander Cody Band (of "Hot Rod Lincoln" fame) and
"The New Riders of the Purple Sage" ("Panama Red").
As an artist, his first love is photography followed by his love of the moving image. "Capturing a moment in time and the feeling that goes with the image is an incredible joy", says Fitch.
The winner of many awards, (including Best Cinematographer, Director and Writer of "Return From Forever" from the National Audubon Society), he has most recently received "International Aperture Merit Awards" for photography in both 2008 and 2009, The Yarrow Cup in 2015, the Ian Mitchell Trophy for Landscape Photography in 2016 and the Borders Exhibition "Best in Class" for Black and White in 2017. In 2018 -The Selkirk Spectrum Shield and Galashiels "Borders Agricultural Trophies and Awards and Many others!
He has also exhibited his work at many galleries.
"If it can't be fixed with duct tape and a Swiss Army Knife, it can't be fixed!
